At the Royal Botanic Gardens lurks a predator; it is subtle and it can kill. The Pitcher plant, fools the Australians they have created a habitat for  it. The cold keeps Canada safe, but with global warming for how long?

It was -30ºC when I took this photo. It was a small pond at the Inglewood Bird sanctuary and the ducks would frolic in the small section that hadn’t frozen over.

The wood duckling is my favourite. Ducklings can’t fly but they can swim very quickly. I startled this youngling and it took off across the pond. The detail is gorgeous and it is one of my favourite photos.

Macro is my favourite type of photography. It invites us into a world we wouldn’t see. The daddy long legs is not a predator but it looks like one. It is a contrast with the vibrant colours of the flower.
